Joining the Catholic Church
-- R.C.I.A.
Our parish is launching a new journey into the
faith
for those interested in joining our
Catholic family. If you are interested in
this process you are asked to contact the parish
office (905/ 358-7611). This process of welcome
into the Catholic Church is called the Catechumenate or the Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults (often identified by its
initials -- R.C.I.A.). The inquiry period's
weekly meetings begin in September. In
addition to the support and direction of the
parish priests, the R.C.I.A. has a lay pastoral
team; there are individual sponsors who journey
weekly with their candidate; and, of course you:
the eucharistic community of Our Lady of the
Scapular Church!
CHILDREN'S CORNER
We invite and encourage all children to
participate!
Each week
from September to June at the 9:30 a.m. Sunday
Mass following the opening prayer the children
leave the assembly for their own celebration and
reflection on the Sunday scriptures. Two
groups go forth, according to age (pre or post
first communion). The children return to
the assembly following the intercessions (during
the offertory procession).
